DESCRIPTION:
Our client is looking for an experienced Application Systems Technical Specialist to join their team. The develops, maintains, and supports enterprise applications on the PegaSystems SPM (Sales Process Manager) framework. The SPA (Sales and Product Administration) application is used by the Health Plan division to support the Quote to Maintenance Value Stream efforts and initiatives. This includes the Sales, Actuarial & Underwriting, Contracts and Membership departments.


ROLE:
The Application Systems Technical Specialist will be an expert in one or more highly specialized areas of applications systems analysis and programming. Provide technical leadership on complex projects. May act as expert in business or functional area. Formulate and define system scope and objectives. Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer application structure, technical capacity and desired results. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written or modified. Design, code, test, debug and document programs. May be responsible for all phases of projects, including overseeing the work of other applications systems analysis and programming staff.


The ideal candidate will have Pega PRPC or other BPM experience. A working knowledge of Java, SQL, Unix, Informatica and Data Warehouse experience is preferred. Having worked in a Lean Agile environment a plus.


EXPERIENCE
- Minimum: 8 years using and maintaining applications software, including systems analysis and design experience.

- Preferred: Experience working with Pega PRPC, including working closely with the business for requirements gathering, developing and maintaining applications software, and including systems analysis and design.


KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Minimum: Knowledge of specific languages and tools used in the applicable technical environment.

- Understanding of computer programming languages and system design concepts.

- Analytic, interpersonal and communication skills.

- Preferred: Knowledge of specific system or business area and systems analysis and design.

- Organizational and project management skills.

EDUCATION:
- Minimum: Bachelors degree or equivalent training and experience.

- Training in specific programming languages, tools, systems analysis and design techniques and project management methodology.
