Seeking an experienced and accomplished lead software architect to oversee technology development for an exciting new interactive music product targeting the teen market. 

The company is funded and is building cutting-edge flex and audio technology. We have a proven business model and significant potential.  We are looking for a hungry and capable lead software architect who can help us get to the next level, including public launch and revenue generation in 2010.

The lead architect must possess the ability to define a scalable architecture for complex consumer-facing interactive applications, be interested in mentoring the development team (Java, Flex, PhP) and successfully launch products.  In addition, this person must be entrepreneurially-minded and be excited to join a company at the earlier stages of its lifecycle. This individual will be one of the key players in the early stage of the venture, and will play a central role in further defining the product vision. The company is based in NYC.

Compensation will be attractive and come with equity. The position could begin part-time or full-time, depending on the fit.

The role will consist of the following responsibilities:

1.      Define/refine overall technical architecture for the site based on business and functional requirements

2.      Implement scalable technology architecture of multi-faceted, dynamic website with social networking, e-commerce, and core Flex audio software components

3.      Determine scalable hosting and content streaming solution to meet both short-term and long-term needs of the business

4.      Define an ongoing product maintenance plan and release schedule to ensure maximum performance and growth of the site

5.      Play an ongoing role interfacing with existing and potential investors

6.      We currently have a flat organization, but as the company matures, this individual will have the opportunity to move into a direct managerial role including the selection and management of development team(s) which may include oversight of the R/D budget

Ideal Qualifications/Experience:

·          7 - 10 years experience developing sophisticated, interactive web applications (less experience is okay if you are a proven star)

·          Proven experience defining architecture for RIAs

·          Command of Flex/Flash, Php, Java, C++

·          Experience managing developers

·          Skills in defining key infrastructure requirements (hosting, streaming) for a large scale, scalable web application

·          Resourcefulness to get things done fast, under budget and without constant direction

·          Desire to work on something cutting edge with exciting long-term potential

·          Classically-trained, Computer Science background
