Job Description

Our site is built on top of mountains of data that comes from dozens of sources. Before the public views this data it has to be massaged, manipulated, and reviewed by our Data Platform Team. We also measure everything about our business, every click, every transaction, and then analyze that data from every angle we can think of.

Job Responsibilities

You will be a data software engineering guru who can lead the 5 developers on the Data Platform Team.

You will be able to find order and beauty in massive piles of messy data?

You will optimize Java, SQL, Hadoop, Postgres, and any other data technology you come across?

You will Architect the data platform that is the basis for our website.

You will work with analysts and data scientists to engineer and productize complex algorithms? You Will mentor, recruit, and code shoulder-to-shoulder with talented software developers?

Required Experience

The ability, desire and willingness to code with your team.

Hands on Management skills for a fast paced team of engineers

The ability to get projects done on time and on budget.

The ability and mindset of an engineering athlete that can look and understand the entire application from the front end to the back end.

You must possess a strong understanding of CS Fundamentals.

Experience working with Massive amounts of data

Technical Skills which will include:
