Client Introduction
On January 9, 2007 the first iPhone was announced to the world. Later we realized that the grand vision for Apple wasn't just a phone, but rather an entire platform and ecosystem for smartphone's and developers worldwide. The tech world as we know it changed forever.
Now fast forward to this moment and consider that there are more than 254.4MM registered automobiles driving on the road in the United States today, this creates perhaps an even bigger opportunity to revolutionize how we interact, communicate and consume entertainment from within our automobiles.
Like Apple did in 2007, our client based in Seattle, WA is planning it's own revolution, this time building an entirely new platform and ecosystem for 'Telematics and Infotainent' all from the dashboards of our favorite automobiles. The plan would not only include the platform and OS, but an intuitive SDK, reference Applications and more.
They've signed a contract with one of the biggest global auto manufactures in the world to deliver the next big thing in the connected world, which could be built into a brand that you might yourself already have parked in your garage. You'd be joining a team that is literally a few months old and you'd be coming in as the first QA hire.

Job Description
Now that Engineering has been established, we are looking for our first QA hire. This person will be the individual tasked with putting into place our QA architecture and process. This is a hands-on role but this person will lead the QA team that they build from the ground up.
Job Responsibilities
You will be the advocate of all things QA. You will help establish policies, procedures and best practices. This is not a QA role, rather a true engineering in test position and strong coding skills are required. You will interface with Engineering, executive leadership and outside partners to ensure the release of truly bug-free products
Job Experience
- Previous experience as a Lead SDET or hands-on Manager
- Previous start-up experience is a huge plus
Required Experience
- 5 plus years of experience as a Developer in Test
- Proven experience programming in at least one open-source OO language
- GUI testing experience
- Experience testing either embedded software on connected devices or mobile devices
- Solid communication skills
Required Education
A BS in CS, Mathematics or related discipline is required.
