Job Description
As a key member of the product team, you will lead the design, implementation and evolution to the next generation analytics architecture in support of the SaaS platform.
You'll bring to the role a passion for building flexible, extensible, highly scalable, robust, and high performance data systems. You must be driven, with an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal
candidate will be proficient and proven in the design and implementation of a scalable multitenant data analytics architecture and the selection and use of a mix of leading, industry
standard, and emerging technologies. You have a track record of applying the right technology to the problem including thinking and implementing outside the RDBMS-paradigm. You will bring your battle proven experience in analytics and data architecture of a SaaS, consumer destination site, or Ad targeting platform to the team.
Job Responsibilities
You will own and directly contribute to the design, implementation, evaluation, selection, and
support of analytic and data technologies. You will serve as the lead architect for our customer
facing reporting and analytics features and products.
Working in a dynamic environment, you will collaborate with product managers, peer software
engineers and architects, QA engineers, DBAs and data center operations engineers.
Job Experience
HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
-Production experience with Map-reduce programming, Hadoop, and Hive
-Implementation experience with NoSQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB
-Familiarity with and use of HBase or Brisk (DataStax Enterprise)
-Familiarity with Python and other server side development
-Previous experience working with large data sets to create near real-time analytics
-Familiarity and experience with agile development process
-Experience in both small and large companies
Required Experience
- At least 6 years commercial experience as a hands-on contributing analytics architect, data
architect, or database architect
-Implementation experience building multi-tenant reporting, data warehousing, and analytics
that is a key part of the product and customer experience
-Solid application, OLTP, and OLAP data modeling experience and expert in OLAP
-Very strong SQL skills and experience in an Oracle environment
-Proficient in server side Java development in a Linux based service oriented architecture
-Strong knowledge of all traditional Data Warehouse-related components (Sourcing, ETL, Data Modeling, Infrastructure, BI, Reporting) and multiple tools to support those components.
-Familiarity with non-relational technologies such as NoSQL and Map-reduce
-Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills
-Self-starter that is results focused with the ability to work independently and in teams
-Ability to balance tactical delivery with strategic vision to advance towards business-driven,
time-critical objectives.
-Proven track record of producing high quality software against plans and schedules that are
being met consistently
Required Education
BS/MS in Computer Scince or relevant technical field
