Sooq seeks a CTO / technical co-founder to assist in the development of a peer-lending site tailored towards small business loans.

We are an early-stage, for-profit company based in New York City. Obtaining small business loans is a cumbersome and highly fragmented process. Our goal is to provide a simple and streamlined platform for entrepreneurs to obtain business loans from their personal networks.

Sooq currently has two co-founders: one of us has a background in business consulting, and the other has a background in law. We are both graduates from the University of Pennsylvania. We are looking for a third co-founder with a background in programming to complement our skill sets. Ideally, you would fit the following description:

- Entrepreneurial, ambitious, and highly motivated

- Willing and able to take on leadership roles and additional responsibilities as the company grows

- 5+ years of programming experience with PHP, Ruby on Rails, or Drupal

- Experience developing social networking sites and/or applications

- Experience managing the operations and administration of a live web application

- Experience managing other developers to ensure quality and timely delivery

- Proven ability to architect appropriate technical solutions, given a set of business requirements

- Proven track record with scoping, organizing, and implementing iterations

- Familiarity with agile development methodologies

Location: New York City

Compensation: Significant equity stake in the company. We are in the process of securing investor funding; as soon as we do so, we will be able to pay ourselves salaries and bonuses (based on company profitability). We expect this to happen within the next five months.
