Overview:

After a soft launch in late 2008, FightLaunch.com has since experienced exponential growth and is currently the World's Largest Community of mixed martial arts (MMA) Fighters, Promoters, Gyms and Fans. We are currently seeking a talented, passionate and hungry web developer to function as a key member of the FightLaunch team. This individual will join the team in a leadership role and significantly contribute to the continued success of FightLaunch.com.

Responsibilities:

•        Responsible for leading the design and implementation of forthcoming FightLaunch.com products and features.

•        Architecting, developing, maintaining, and improving our core site’s functionality.

•        Hands on front end and back end coding.

•        Analyze the design and lead the development of new products and features by providing architectural considerations focusing on usability, quality and scalability.

•        Review legacy code and identify inefficiencies and encourage the use of best practices and design patterns.

•        Provide overall technical guidance and leadership.

Experience:

•        Experience developing highly interactive and dynamic web 2.0 / high-traffic consumer web sites - (experience architecting/maintaining back & front end code, experience optimizing MySQL, etc.)

•        Previous experience designing and building e-commerce systems (preferably utilizing PayPal Pro)

•        Flexible and willing to work in a fast-changing start-up environment.

•        Must be comfortable working in a team environment and collaborating

•        Motivated self starter / Entrepreneurial spirit.

Skills:

·         Extensive experience and knowledge in PHP and object oriented programming

·         Advanced SQL knowledge including experience writing and deciphering complex SQL queries.

·         Expert knowledge of HTML, XTML, XML, AJAX, JavaScript and CSS.

·         Experience with user centered design techniques.

·         Knowledge of web standards and browser compatibility issues.

·         Knowledge of data security.

·         Detail-oriented, well organized

·         Able to meet frequent and often concurrent deadlines.

·         Project Management (ability to simultaneously lead and organize a multitude of projects).

·         Ability to think outside-the-box.

Education

BS/MS in areas of Computer Science and or MIS. Background in business would be beneficial.
