Internet Startup looking for a Expert PHP Programmer with a history of delivering enterprise quality software in a timely manner. The ideal candidate has experience creating MVC applications from scratch, working with PHP and mySQL(or similiar) databases and developing object oriented applications.


Our startup team is a combination of business and technical minds and we looking for someone who can lead the development of our web application from start to finish. The database design will be a vital part to our application development and we would like a programmer with experience planning out complex databases that can grow and flex as our application develops.


What you will be doing:

- Helping us as a team go from ideas and html/js mockups to working product

- Set up our servers and operate as our server admin

- Build our web application from scratch based on mockups, business plan, ongoing discussions, and your programming expertise

- Test, adjust, tweak, and optimize our application as time goes along

- Work with the rest of our team, including the designers and other programmers to build an application that we call can be proud of

- Bringing your creativity and ideas to make our product even more useful for customers

- Plan for future growth & scalability.

What we are looking for:

- Honest and intelligent team players

- A very good understanding of database architecture and design

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

- 5+ years of experience in multiple programming environments such as PHP, Rails,  Java, Python, JavaScript, CSS, mobile software development.

- Strong Object Oriented skills preferred.

- Strong time management & the ability to assist other team members in problem solving.

- Strong written & verbal communication in English

- The ability to work from home but connect regularly(likely most weekdays) via skype or phone with our web team lead who is based in Vancouver, BC

Nice to haves:

- A passionate for statistics, psychology or mathematics

- An eye for design, web application layout, and experience with jquery

- Experience working in a startup environment

- Extensive experience with the jQuery Javascript library.

- Experience working with payment gateway services

- Experience recording from webcam using flash and storing the recording on the server


Compensation will be based on experience and could be payed by the hour, week, month and may include a mix of stock in the new company. Ideally this developer would become a part of our startups long term team as our companies grows and takes over the market.
