BanZoo is a well-staffed internet startup, launching in September.  We are funded through Angel investors and have upcoming meetings with many more investors. We have a very exciting organization that has been worked on for over a year with many big players from organizations such as Stanford, Google, Yahoo, MIT, UC Berkley, Sun, Cisco, and more.

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Software Search Engineer with solid experience in search implementation on web/e-commerce type products. You will implement and maintain a high-volume, highly available, hybrid (SQL+ NoSQL) data for search, and design and implement a very large search solution. The individual should be self-starter and willing to learn new tools and technologies in quick time and implement them, and enthusiastic about working in a startup environment that provides a great opportunity to expand and explore the latest technologies in big data processing.

REQUIREMENTS:

·         5 to 7 years of strong Java, PHP, MySQL development experience, with an emphasis on scalability, distributed and high performance applications

·          1 to 2 years of search development including advanced technology like SOLR, Lucene, Hadoop

·         Experience in Hadoop, particularly HDFS, Java MapReduce

·         Expert level knowledge of RDBMS fundamentals and good experience in Oracle / MySQL

·         Experience working in a Windows/Linux environment

·         Successful at establishing strong working relationships with cross-functional teams

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

MAJOR PLUSES:

·         Experience in search and indexing technologies like Lucene/ Solr

·         Exposure to Hadoop, HBase

·         Other NoSQL experience with “eventual consistency” platforms like Cassandra and Voldemort

Compensation at this time is stock only, however, we will be launching by the end of the month and that could change very soon. Other benefits include:
