JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Front-End Web Developer will be responsible for developing sophisticated web sites that are consumed by millions of consumers worldwide, something that is likely consumed by friend, family or even co-workers. You'll possess a passion for using the latest in web standards such as HTML5 and CSS3, have experience with user-centered design and overall new trends in front-end web development.
JOB EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge of HTML 5 and CSS3; CSS framework experience is a plus.
- Ability to translate a design into semantic markup and CSS.
- Ability to see pixels when developing and assessing a design.
- Excellent understanding of browser capabilities and issues.
- Ability to write clean, well-formed, unobtrusive, and extensible object-oriented JavaScript.
- Expert proficiency with jQuery; experience with other JS frameworks such as Mootools, YUI, ExtJS, and Dojo is ideal.
- Proven ability to build robust applications with AJAX and APIs such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Google Maps.
- Experience with content management systems, specifically Movable Type 4-5, Expression Engine, Alfresco, and Wordpress.
- Some knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO).
- Excellent analysis, debugging and problem solving skills (Firebug, YSlow, etc) including the ability to provide practical feedback.
- Understanding of mobile web development, ideally jQuery Mobile, is a plus.
- At ease with source/version control systems
REQUIRED EDUCATION
- CS Degree or equivalent work experience.
