API/Platform Engineer

Meetup is looking for a talented and motivated engineer to lead the
ongoing development of our public API. You’ll be responsible for
building out the Meetup API, ensuring the reliability of the service,
supporting external developers, and evangelizing the platform.
This is a challenging and rewarding role with a lot of responsibility.
You’ll get to wrestle with interesting technical and architectural
challenges, but also have responsibility for defining the API as a
product and increasing its usage internally and externally.
The right person:
- Knows Java and Python inside out.
- Has worked extensively with relational DB’s.
- Is comfortable “getting the word out” and evangelizing the API.
- Is comfortable supporting a developer community.
- Understands the architecture of the web and how it pertains to public API’s.
- Understands modern identity and authentication standards [ OpenID,
oAuth, etc. ].
