Escapia is currently recruiting for a Senior Software Development Engineer to work with a team of talented developers to grow our vacation rental business, focusing on middle tier and database development. This position reports to the CTO.
Responsibilities:
· Design, implement, and unit test multi-tiered web applications on .Net, primarily focusing on business logic layer and database.
· Translate functional requirements into logical, component based technical designs, and provide reliable development estimates.
· Work closely with program management and test to contribute to functional specification and test cases.
· Quick to pick up existing code base and refactor.
· Troubleshoot and resolve functionality and performance issues on live site.
· Find creative ways to solve challenging problems.
· Contribute to improve the team’s design and coding quality and best practices.
Skill Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required.
· Strong object oriented design and coding skills.
· Strong problem solving, debugging, performance tuning, and unit testing skills.
· 5+ years developing and shipping production quality C/C++ or C# code required. Building multi-tier, high performance, high scalable applications using Microsoft technologies a plus.
· Experience with SQL server and T-SQL required.
· Experience developing with .Net, web services, XML, XSLT, and client side technologies (DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript) a plus. Domain knowledge on accounting or online reservations a plus.
· A great team player, flexible, and a strong drive to learn new, cutting edge technologies.
· Able to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused, changing environment.
