White Space Twintern Job Description
White Space Healthcare Marketing is looking for a Twintern! That’s right, a social media intern who can manage, monitor, and develop content for social media sites.
Basic requirements:
College junior or above (including grad student or recent college graduate) who is willing to commute to our office in downtown Seattle Good written and oral communication skills. Experience with and interest in social media sites and tools, including Twitter, Facebook, Blogs (including uber blogs), Widgets, Squidoo, YouTube, Vimeo, and other video sites
Desired, but not required:
- Basic understanding of SEO and SMO
- Creative writing and design abilities (and/or willingness to learn)
- Basic HTML knowledge (or willingness to learn)
- Willing to read (or have already read) relevant books such as Groundswell and Tribes
Job description:
The Twintern will act as assistant social media manager at White Space Healthcare Marketing.
- Twitter: ‘Listen’ to the ‘Twittersphere’ and provide weekly updates to management about activity relevant to the healthcare industry, current and potential clients, and even ourselves. Formulate a tweeting strategy to help increase our share of voice, then execute it upon management approval.
Facebook: Maintain and help manage our Facebook company profile and group.
Blog: Manage content and act as assistant project manager for company uber blog.
Social networking: Engage in social networking sites and activities related to healthcare, and deliver weekly updates to management. Formulate a response strategy to be implemented across social networking sites.
Other responsibilities:
- Read and research social marketing issues as they relate to our industry and business, and share what you learn in formal presentations to team and management.
- Create and present sample proposals to real clients on incorporating social media into existing marketing campaigns. This may also lead to the opportunity to deliver presentations in actual client meetings.
Expectations and compensation:
- 8 to 12 weeks
- 40 hours a week
- Compensation in the form of school credit. We will work with you and your school to fit your requirements for internship credit.
