User Interface Developer

Angry Lapdog Productions* is a very early-stage startup.  We’re developing an innovative way of finding and interacting with features on any and all websites.  

Your mission will be to develop a structured, maintainable codebase that delivers a responsive user experience across major browsers.

You will also play a key role in integrating our service with other websites, such as developing scraping and automation tools.

You will…

  • Lead front end development
    • Advise designers on technical and cost considerations
    • Code DHTML, CSS and JavaScript for our Rails and jQuery environment
    • Ensure cross-browser performance and compatibility
  • Work with the CTO to design and develop scraping technologies

You’ll need…

  • Technical know-how
    • Experience integrating HTML with server side scripting languages such as Rails, JSP, PHP
    • Knowledge of HTML/CSS standards and browser support for them
    • JavaScript experience, including AJAX and libraries such as jQuery/prototypejs
    • Knowledge of best practices such as Semantic HTML and Unobtrusive JavaScript
    • Knowledge of browsers, e.g., bugs, rendering modes, events, concurrency
  • Attitude
    • Passion for creating exceptional user experiences
    • Discipline to produce good results, fast
    • Drive to increase depth and breadth of technical skills
    • Patience and analytical skill to work through browser issues
    • Desire to work in an agile startup environment
  • Other
    • Work samples that demonstrate your experience
    • Willingness to work with us in Seattle
