We are a Seattle-based startup building a business around sales of original artwork. We aim to be the world’s largest art gallery in less than 24 months. 

Our site is currently under development using Ruby on Rails, and we are looking for a more seasoned Lead Developer to join our team. This opportunity could be part- or full-time with the possibility of a paid or equity position depending on the candidate’s abilities and desires. 

Items listed below would be attractive tools in a prospective candidate’s repertoire. However, we know that any sharp developer worth his salt could quickly pick up the missing pieces. 

- 1-2 years experience building web based applications in Ruby on Rails 
- Commitment to agile/rapid/test driven development 
- At least one example of taking an idea from concept to completion, web application preferred 
- Command of web based protocols such as HTTP, SSL, SSH, SFTP 
- APIs, how to create, consume and authenticate 
- Familiarity with browser capabilities and restrictions 
- jQuery, XHTML, CSS, MySql 
- Knowledge of Git, Capistrano, Amazon EC2 & S3, etc
