Note: We are looking for a super polished/articulate Manager or Sr. Analyst who has “executive level presence,” can network within any new industry, is comfortable with ambiguity, and has the fundamental strategic analysis and internal cross-functional skills necessary to work in a strategic development role in a large tech company.

Team Overview:

 

Strategic Development & Investments’ (SD&I) mission is to tap external sources of innovation and bring game changing innovation to our customers through deep partnerships, targeted investments and acquisitions. We are actively exploring new business opportunities and models such as customer insights & targeting, m-commerce & banking and mobile advertising.

 

This position will interface with key internal constituents and T-Mobile leadership as well as a range of external strategic partners. This person will help develop and drive new business models, product strategy, and partnerships.

Responsibilities: 


Identify, research and evaluate new business opportunities

 

Lead strategic review of opportunities, technologies, and potential partners across internal functional teams


Conduct analysis (economic/ financial) of customer and market opportunity, key players and technologies, and business models

 

Create business case to obtain funding and business plans to shape execution

 

Define product strategy to transform ideas into products and services



Support/ lead deal teams in structuring key strategic partnerships and new business relationships


Build relationships with key players—both established and emerging

 

Skills/Experience/Education: 


 

- 3-5years+ strategic business development or related

 

- Strong cross-functional experience with technical operations, finance, product development, marketing and other partner groups 

 

- Understanding of emerging mobile sectors and trends

 

- Keen business acumen – understanding of multiple business models and their key levers 

 

- Experience building and maintaining strong business relationships with senior executives

 

- Exceptionally strong strategic, industry, and financial/economic analysis skills 

 

- Technical undergrad (engineering, math, hard sciences, economics, etc.) preferred 


- MBA is a plus

 

 

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and Manage New Opportunity Pipeline and communication process.

  • Research and identify business opportunities: New products & New Companies.

  • Analyze business model and new opportunities.

  • Lead internal business review of new opportunities across functional teams.

  • Develop and conduct business presentation to leadership teams of key target companies.

  • Inform, influence and recommend business opportunities to T-Mobile leadership team.

 

Experience - Functional/Technical Skills

 

Strong strategic analysis and development of industry knowledge and analysis trends in industry.

 

Significant experience building and maintaining strong business relationships with Vice President Level and above within and across a large matrix-managed enterprise

 

 

Strong cross-functional knowledge of technical operations, finance, product development.
