About The Position
The Director of Business Development is the backbone of the company and the key to our success. You will be responsible for working with marketing agencies and enterprises to grow revenue for the company. You will sell our services to top tier marketing agencies and marketing decision makers in Fortune 500 corporations to assist them in building highly effective lead generation campaigns.
Responsibilities
· Develop and execute a strategic plan to penetrate key accounts (agencies and enterprises)
· Driving an annual sales quota
· Approach target accounts to generate demand for the Marketfish services
· Work with client services team to ensure the success of new customer campaigns and to transition ownership of established customer accounts
· Build and leverage complementary strategic partnerships to drive revenue
Requirements
· Must be a hunter and willing to open doors
· 10+ years’ experience as a sales or business development executive at a technology provider or digital advertising company selling to top tier marketing agencies or at a marketing agency selling to marketing decision-maker
· Proven sales star with significant B2B experience, consistently exceeding quota
· Demonstrated ability to engage and close customers primarily over the phone
· An understanding of direct marketing, lead generation, and search marketing
· Previous success in a startup or in a high growth company
· Loves the challenge of working for an aggressive startup
· Excellent presentation and writing skills
· Outgoing personality, comfortable with a high risk / high reward environment
· Demonstrated analytic abilities
· Degree is required, MBA is a plus
