GUI Designer/Developer

Our firm provides cutting-edge and exciting online education experiences.  We are seeking a User-Experience, GUI designer/developer to design and implement the front-end of our existing website. We are seeking a professional who both understands intelligent design and visual hierarchy to lead the site’s front-end redesign for a more intuitive and user-friendly experience.

The position will entail:

·         Re-skinning the website to develop a cohesive look and feel that is professional, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

·        Leading the redesign and development of the front-end of the website.

·         Collaboration with product management and developers to create UI designs.

·         Developing a user interface that is efficient and scalable.

The successful candidate will have:

·         Strong experience in development of HTML/CSS, JavaScript and a strong understanding of Ajax and jQuery.

·         Extensive experience in UX Design and understanding of offline user to online conversion, as well as an understanding of website performance, optimization and scalability.

Must have understanding of the core principles and best practices regarding user experience and design including the following:

·         Design Optimization for the most frequent or important tasks.

·         Focus on Interface simplicity, accessibility and visibility to users.

·         User interface designs that promote clarity and visual simplicity.

·         Should be familiar with: Subtractive design, Visual hierarchy, Affordance and Visual schemes.
