Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design test strategies, write test cases, scripts and suites.

• Enter and update bugs in our defect tracking system (Jira).

• Identify software defects, run test suites, and verify fixes.

• Develop test automation and tools for validating accuracy and completeness of data feeds, applications and performance/load testing.

• Collaborate with Software Engineers to understand the Product Architecture and work on identifying, designing or enhancing existing test frameworks to support test  development.

• Develop and deploy automated test frameworks and cases in C++, Python and PHP. Extend unit test coverage in existing frameworks.

• Develop performance and testing tools for MySQL.

• Develop tools to enable Second Life to test itself.

• Help evolve and define Engineering and QA process improvements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years as an advanced Software Quality Assurance Engineer with a strong background in white box testing. Previous experience as a Software Developer or Software Developer in Test is highly desirable.

• Expert knowledge of software development processes and methodologies.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently to triage issues and prioritize tasks.

• Advanced experience in languages like C++, Python and PHP.

• Advanced experience with UNIX and shell scripting.

• Strong understanding of Relational Databases - MYSQL preferred.

• Testing experience with online client/server products or live online games.

• Experience using automated test tools such as, but not limited to, LoadRunner or WinRunner, Selenium and load testing tools.

• Performance testing experience is a huge plus

• Ability to successfully work collaboratively and interface with a wide range of cross-functional team members.

• Knowledge of i18n testing is an added plus.

• A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science strongly preferred. An advanced degree in a related field is always welcome!
