I will be heading up to Vancouver for our first event in that beautiful city. The guys from jayandsilentrob.com have been helping me with the event; finding a location, promotion, etc. Our events in Seattle and Portland are off to a good start and my hope is that we can do the same in Vancouver as well.

It amazes me to see the number of startups in the Pacific Northwest. I guess it shouldn’t be surprising, but Silicon Valley is the place that gets the most headlines. The Northwest though, has access to capital, great schools, and a very international presence with the trade associated with the Pacific Rim. They key will be leveraging these to build an even stronger entrepreneurial community.

While we do have the capital (Thanks to Nike, Microsoft, Boeing, etc.) we do need a much more dynamic and engaged seed and angel investor community. Once that happens, then that is when things start getting really interesting.

Back to the event. Our events focus on bringing entrepreneurs togethers; to engage, interact, and to learn. If you have a zeal and a drive for entrepreneurship, then you are definitely welcome! The events are free and are a great way to learn more about our entrepreneur round tables, which are for small groups of dedicated entrepreneuers and are focused on providing council and advice to one another.
